In 2005, NASA discovered an Earth like planet outside the solar system and determined that there might be intelligent life on it. In order to make contact with extraterrestrial intelligent creatures, NASA launched the"Lighthouse Project" to launch a deep space communication array base in Hawaii and transmit high-power signals to it for testing. A few years later, an alien spacecraft arrived unexpectedly. The Pacific Joint Naval Exercise Fleet in Hawaii was ordered to make contact. The missile destroyer and two other warships belonging to the hero, Lieutenant Alex (Taylor Kitsch), are used as reconnaissance teams and are ordered to contact alien ships. But they were attacked and suffered heavy losses. Due to the shield deployed by alien ships, other ships in the joint fleet are unable to provide support and can only rely on their own hard work to support them. Finally, all three modern ships were destroyed.
